6E Trades 7/6 (Mon) - Fatal Flaw #3

Not going to be able to save my trades today - the tape's alien - so I'm wrapping up.

There's nothing to be learned.

I willfully let a 250 gain turn into a 800 loss, because I'm ANGRY.

That's all there is to it.

I had moved my stop to take profit, only to cancel it almost immediately after I moved it each time. My mind was not on my trades the whole time. The only thing I could process was how pissed I was. The better part of me kept coaxing the no-good part to CALM DOWN - to no avail of course.

To you naysayers out there: take your trophy; you won - this is the day you've been waiting for for a while now, so CHERISH it.

f@%^ the naysayers, they probably stopped learning a long time ago....

One day of trading out of a whole career, you'll recover no sweat.

I 2nd MvW's sentiment...

F*C* the naysayers!

:-) Thank you, MVW and DT!
Yes, F***K them!! Just had to choose the period that I'm doing things right to give "well-intent" warning about fatal flaws, and never a word of encourage EVER (not that I expected it!). But it's my fault that I'm affected. I can't help but be irritated by CONCERNED old timers and vipers.I really HATE false teachers!!!
Sorry, I must be getting old...explains the crankiness.

"There's nothing to be learned."

I respectfully disagree based on your next statements:

"I willfully let a 250 gain turn into a 800 loss, because I'm ANGRY."

Why? A winner should never be allowed to turn into a loser 3x the size of the unrealized gain. Maybe you should just not trade when you realize you're angry. Of course the ideal situation is to realize that you're angry and then be disciplined enough to NOT let that affect your trading, but for now, stepping away from the DOM might be a good fail-safe/protective method. I think you have to learn from most mistake/losses in order to improve.

You're probably still angry, but I would recommend replaying the trades in your head focusing specifically on trade management, and see how you could have performed better. Just my opinion, and of course, I'm still learning myself so take it for what it's worth.

Oh and I third MvW's statement.

Jules,

You have many more supporters who want you to succeed than detractors who wish to see you fail.

And one other thing.... take those damn profits!!!

Thank you, EP. Ya, D already gave me a full lecture. I can imagine him putting me in my cats' cage whenever I'm angry LOL!

And yes, I'll most probably not trade til I get over my anger. Annoying people have power over me that I am aware of, but just can't do anything about it. All I can do is to keep talking to animals only :-)

DT,

You bet I will! :-) 100, 150, 200 - I will take them all anytime!

How have you been?

Jules said...

Syed,
Am afraid I won't be doing that for a while...if there's anything on my chart you want to know more about, email me?

Hey Jules,

I fourth MvW's statement!!!

I have been following your blog and seeing you trade these few months, I am more than convinced that you know what you are doing and most impt, how to trade well and grow your account etc..Loves your discretionary way of trading!

Just don't let others affect you and you'll be fine. :)

I'm still working at it Jules! :)

Jules, so far you are one of the best day trader out there. Honest and Sincere. I believe this event will make you stronger.

You are very rare traders who didn't blow out his/her account at their first trading. And you have my respect, because I know you deserve it.

DT,
All the best! Take your time with it. Meanwhile, do check out ARI KIEV's book "Trading To Win". It says a lot of things that were pointed out by Ziad (yes, the person I didn't like initially - not because of what he said, but because of WHO he's written to..someone who's needing time to recover...), the insights will give you a perspective of trading that will benefit you whether you choose to eventually think of trading that way (really, does perspective even matter? Trading is such an art you can almost do it in any way and as long as it is the way that works for you, you'll make money after you've paid your dues to the market :-))
